Hallo, ik ben Yves Leterme,
kalligraaf en letterkunstenaar in Sint-Kruis, Brugge. 'Letters zijn praktische en nuttige tekens, maar ze treffen ons ook als pure vorm met een innerlijke melodie,' - Kandinsky Het handgeschreven woord mag dan al aan belang inboeten, de bewondering voor een sierlijk, expressief en geschoold handschrift blijft. Met mijn werk probeer ik de traditie van het kunstzinnig schrift in ere te houden en de relevantie ervan aan te tonen, zelfs in deze digitale tijden. Dit klinkt als een bijzonder nobele doelstelling, maar het is vooral leuk en ontspannend om te doen. |

"Letters act as practical and useful signs, but also as pure form and inner melody," - Kandinsky Ironically, as the handwritten word threatens to disappear, we find ourselves all the more enraptured by graceful, expressive and skillful handwriting. I've set myself to help preserve the revered tradition of artful lettering and illustrate its relevance, even in this digital day and age. This may sound like a lofty goal, but it's actually a gratifying and relaxing thing to do. |
